These little beauties are Rhododendron blossoms. Rhododendron flowers are actually from a bush that will quite happily grow into a tree if allowed. I took this shot at Tumwater Falls Park in Washington state. This flower is also the state flower for Washington state. I first edited this piece in Picasa putting on an HDR-ish filter then took it into Photoshop for some small hand edits and put an oil painting filter on it. Spring in the Pacific Northwest 2016.

I'm a southern born and raised country girl at heart although I have resided in the beautiful state of Washington for over 30 years. I fell in love with the camera the first time I saw one. I needed no one to explain it's potential even at that young age. I'm a wife and mother of three and money was always tight while raising the kids. There was no time nor money back then to explore the magic with a camera. My children are now grown and retirement nears although my love for the lens has never faded. I'm now at a place in my life where I'm able to dive head first into my photography which is my passion. It amazes me still that I'm able to capture through my lens what the eye sees. I hope my work blesses those who see it as much as it has...
